Redware Plates
Each plate is individually hand etched and painted. They are
first fired in a kiln to 1800 degrees. When cooled the plate
is coated with a clear glaze and fired a second time. The
clear glaze helps to protect the plate from staining and
gives it a shiny appearance. Although the pieces are
primarily decorative pieces, the clear glaze used makes them
safe to use with food.
